These little lovebirds got married in my favourite month, September. Maybe it's because it's my birthday month, who knows. I just love the light, and general feel of September.
Mal and Leigh decided to get married in the cute little village of Himbleton, where they live. This cute little Worcestershire village was epic for a wedding like this. Hardly any traffic, or if there was, the drivers and passengers would know the bride and groom.
One of the nicest touches of the day, was Leigh being walked to the church by her two daughters. The church was a 10 minute slow walk from their cottage, and I manage to capture some lovely candids of the daughters carrying the train of Leigh's gown.
Also I love that some of the village folk would come to their front doors to offer their well wishes, the community spirit in small places like this is so strong.
The reception was held back at their local pub across the road, which had a marquee to the rear with a dance floor. The whole day was totally relaxed, and Mal + Leigh had asked for 99% candids on the day, and a handful of posey shots. When I shoot portraits, I never think of them as posed, more staged candids really. Just saying - "smile" after counting to 3 doesn't really bring out the best in people. Us wedding photographers have little tricks to side step any awkwardness in front of the camera that you may have!

Their first dance shots say it all for me.
